Service Controller

Birmingham

Permanent - Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

The main purpose of this role is to plan service work within your branch to ensure that branch targets are met and process all relevant paperwork. The successful candidate will act as a point of contact for both service personnel and customers, liaising with the sales team to schedule jobs and discuss survey report information.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Produce and send a weekly programme of work for service personnel.
  2. Liaise with customers to book service work as required.
  3. Check and input timesheet details into the branch system.
  4. Review service personnel expense forms and overtime claims.
  5. Prepare weekly service forecasts with the Service Manager and/or Branch Manager.
  6. Act as a branch contact for service personnel.
  7. Handle customer service queries efficiently.
  8. Forward sales enquiries to the branch sales team.
  9. Compile service reports and other documentation for the National Accounts Department.
  10. Ensure correct charging arrangements for emergency calls and special disinfection work before month-end.
  11. Complete all required service monitoring.
  12. Provide hazard assessments and work details to service personnel before they start work.
  13. Arrange materials, preparations, and chemicals needed for service staff.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer experience.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced office environment under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organisational skills with effective workload management.
  • Willingness to learn new computer systems.
  • Confident communication skills, including telephone manner.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and resolve issues.
  • Route Planning/Optimisation experience is desirable but not essential.
