Job summary

Consult in Barrow-In-Furness is seeking a Service Architect for a contract through 14/04/2027. Hybrid working will be discussed at interview.

The role requires designing end-to-end IT service solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and SLA delivery, while integrating with existing processes and technologies. You will detail service models and operational documentation, engage stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement in service performance and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Service Design: Develop service architectures that cover infrastructure, applications, and operational processes.
• Requirements Analysis: Capture functional and non-functional requirements for new or modified services.
• Integration: Ensure new services integrate with existing ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration).
• Documentation: Produce service design packages, including service models and procedures.
• Governance: Define service standards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Transition Support: Collaborate with project teams for smooth transition to live operation.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve service performance and cost efficiency.

Duration: contract to run until 14/04/2027 (with potential for extension)

Location: Barrow-In-Furness. Hybrid working to be discussed during interview

Rate: up to £625.60 p/d Umbrellainside IR35

Clearance required: ActiveMOD SC Clearance and Sole UK Nationality

Role purpose / summary

The Service Architect is responsible for designing and defining end-to-end IT service solutions that meet business requirements and align with organizational standards. This role ensures that services are scalable, secure, and deliverable within agreed SLAs, while integrating seamlessly with existing processes and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Service Design: Develop service architectures that cover infrastructure, applications, and operational processes.
• Requirements Analysis: Work with stakeholders to capture functional and non-functional requirements for new or modified services.
• Integration: Ensure new services integrate effectively with existing ITSM processes (e.g., Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management).

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in service architecture or IT service design roles.

Preferred Qualifications

• ITIL certification (Foundation or higher).
• Experience in large-scale enterprise or government environments.
