Job summary

Perfect Placement is recruiting a Service Advisor for a family-run main dealer in Kettering. You will greet customers, answer queries, and book service/MOT bookings while coordinating with the workshop team to track progress. The role emphasizes clear communication, upselling, and high service standards.

Salary: up to £30,000 basic, with an achievable £35,000+ OTE. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:30pm, with 1 in 4 Saturdays mornings; ongoing training and clear career progression are

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar customer service role within the motor trade.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and IT literacy.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on upselling and achieving targets.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for service customers with a warm and professional welcome.
• Handle customer enquiries via telephone and in person.
• Book vehicles for service, MOT, or repairs with accurate information.
• Liaise with workshop teams to provide updates on vehicle progress.
• Explain maintenance work, costs, and timescales clearly to customers.
• Proactively upsell service plans, warranties, and accessories.
• Process invoices, payments, and warranty documentation accurately.
• Manage aftersales administration including warranty claims and follow-up calls.
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
