Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking an experienced z/OS Mainframe Systems Programmer to join our enterprise infrastructure team. The role entails installation, upgrade, maintenance, and support of the IBM z/OS operating system and related software across large-scale environments.

The ideal candidate will have deep z/OS Systems Programming expertise, SMP/E, and Parallel Sysplex administration, with proven ability to work independently in banking/financial services contexts.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on z/OS Systems Programming experience.
• Deep knowledge of z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF and JCL.
• RACF security experience; Parallel Sysplex implementation and administration expertise.
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining IBM and CA/Broadcom mainframe products.
• Experience in large enterprise environments, preferably banking/financial services.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and independent work capabilities.
• Experience supporting mission-critical production environments with strict SLAs.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, customize, upgrade, and maintain IBM z/OS operating systems.
• Manage and support IBM and CA/Broadcom system software across enterprise environments.
• Plan and execute OS upgrades and maintenance using SMP/E.
• Administer and support large-scale Parallel Sysplex environments.
• Monitor performance, plan capacity, and optimize resources.
• Troubleshoot complex system-level issues with z/OS, middleware, and infra components.
• Collaborate with application support, security, and operations teams for platform stability.
• Apply maintenance, service packs, and vendor-recommended updates.
• Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and high-availability initiatives.
• Maintain system security controls and compliance with standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and problem management; mentor juniors.
• Provide on-call and after-hours support for production changes.
