Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Cardiff is seeking a skilled Workshop Controller to manage day-to-day operations at our busy depot. The role combines workshop leadership with hands-on work to ensure service and repair work is completed to company standards.

You will oversee technicians, maintain accurate documentation, and support hydraulic and pneumatic systems, while keeping a high standard of housekeeping. The position offers a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with a basic salary around £45,000 per annum

Qualifications

• Time served technician or NVQ/C&G Level 3 in motor vehicle repairs.
• MOT preparation experience.
• Experience as Workshop Controller in an HGV workshop.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day running of all workshop areas and delegate workload to technicians.
• Be hands-on on the tools when required due to the productive nature of the role.
• Complete service and repair documentation and records to company standards.
• Overhaul hydraulic and pneumatic systems and other workshop equipment.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards, electronically and on paper.
