Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Workday Payroll Senior Principal Consultant to lead the design, delivery, and success of Payroll implementations. You will guide clients and teams, provide strategic payroll transformation advice, and ensure solutions meet business objectives.

The role integrates cross-functional workstreams, pre-sales support, and talent development. You will mentor teams, drive complex solution discussions, and contribute to practice growth through knowledge sharing while staying current

Qualifications

Active Workday Payroll Certification preferred.
5+ years of Workday implementation experience across end-to-end deployments.
Deep functional expertise in payroll operations, compliance, and integrations.
Experience leading workstreams, workshops, and design discussions.

Responsibilities

Serve as a senior Workday Payroll SME, guiding strategy and operations.
Lead workshops and design sessions to define scalable Workday Payroll solutions.
Own solution design across configuration, testing, deployment and post-go-live.
Act as functional lead for medium to large Workday Payroll implementations.
Advise on payroll processes, controls, and transformation initiatives.
Collaborate with HCM, Benefits, Time Tracking, and other teams for integrated solutions.
Support testing, parallel runs, cutover, deployment, and hypercare activities.
Mentor consultants and contribute to practice development and repeatable assets.
Engage in pre-sales activities including estimations and demonstrations.
