Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Workday HCM Senior Principal Consultant to lead design, delivery, and overall success of Workday HCM implementations. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients and project teams, guiding Core HCM and related areas while aligning solutions to business objectives and Workday best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Active Workday HCM Certification is typically required.
• Previous certifications in Compensation, Benefits, or related areas are advantageous.
• 5+ years of Workday implementation experience across multiple end-to-end deployments.
• Proven ability to lead HCM workstreams or functional teams on large projects.
• Strong knowledge of Core HCM and HR business processes.
• Experience gathering requirements, workshops, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
• Experience supporting pre-sales activities, including estimations, proposals, and demonstrations.
• Excellent communication and engagement with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior Workday HCM SME across Core HCM and related areas such as Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Talent, Performance, Recruiting, and Learning.
• Lead client workshops, discovery sessions, and design discussions to define scalable Workday solutions.
• Own solution design and oversight across configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live activities.
• Act as the functional lead for mid-to-large Workday HCM implementations, managing key decisions and risks.
• Provide strategic HR transformation guidance and Workday adoption advice to clients.
• Collaborate with Reporting, Security, Integrations, Payroll, Change Management, and Project Management teams to ensure delivery.
• Support testing, data conversion, cutover, and deployment activities throughout the lifecycle.
• Mentor and coach consultants and senior consultants, with quality reviews and leadership.
• Support business development activities including solutioning, estimations, proposals, and customer presentations.
• Contribute to practice development through methodology improvements and knowledge sharing.
