Job summary

South East Water is recruiting an Delivery Manager to join the Engineering leadership team in the UK. You will hold full accountability for a £20-40 million annual portfolio, ensuring safe design and on-time, on-budget delivery of asset engineering programmes.

You will also lead multiple workstreams, manage third-party suppliers, and oversee project managers and teams, using data-driven insights to guide decisions while maintaining governance and compliance.

Qualifications

• A degree qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a similar relevant subject.
• NEC3/4 project manager accreditation.
• Demonstrable experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and programmes from initial concept through to successful delivery.
• Experience working at a senior management level within a client, consultancy, or contractor organisation.
• Proven experience of engineering delivery within the water industry or similar utilities sector, such as gas or energy.
• Excellent organisational and resource allocation skills.
• The ability to undertake recruitment responsibilities to ensure your teams are fully resourced with the necessary skills and knowledge for successful delivery.
• Strong people management skills, a collaborative team approach, and the ability to work effectively with peers and influence individuals not within your direct line management.
• Sound commercial and contract knowledge and acumen.
• A proven track record of managing budgets, schedules, and risks effectively.
• The ability to exercise sound engineering judgement and make well-informed decisions in complex situations.
• Excellent technical report writing and editorial skills, alongside strong oral communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan & lead the safe design and delivery of a programme of works to time and budget whilst compliant with all Company H&S, Environmental and company policies.
• Accountable for the performance of the third party suppliers and stakeholders working in partnership to deliver the programme of works.
• Responsible for the management of the Project Managers and teams supporting the delivery.
• Uses evidential data to make objective decisions taking into account stakeholders including the end customer.
