South East Water in the United Kingdom is seeking a Delivery Manager to take end-to-end accountability for a multi-stream asset engineering portfolio valued around £20-40 million annually. You will plan, design safely, and deliver programmes on time and within budget, while guiding third-party suppliers and project managers.

You will use data-driven insights and robust governance to inform decisions, oversee risk and commercial management, and lead diverse teams to achieve excellent service for

Competenze

  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a similar relevant subject.
  • NEC3/4 project manager accreditation.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and programmes from concept to delivery.
  • Experience at senior management level within a client, consultancy, or contractor organisation.
  • Proven delivery within water utilities or similar sectors.

Summary

As Delivery Manager, you will be a crucial member of the Engineering leadership team. You will hold full accountability for your portfolio, valued between £20-40 million annually, and will be responsible for the safe design and delivery of asset engineering programmes. This involves planning and leading multiple workstreams, managing third-party suppliers and stakeholders, and overseeing project managers and their teams.

You will ensure your programmes are delivered on time and within budget, while maintaining compliance with internal governance and utilising data-driven insights for informed decision-making. This role demands excellent programme management skills, commercial awareness, contract management experience, and the ability to lead and inspire diverse teams.

Main responsibilities
  • Plan & lead the safe design and delivery of a programme of works to time and budget whilst compliant with all Company H&S, Environmental and company policies.
  • Accountable for the performance of the third party suppliers and stakeholders working in partnership to deliver the programme of works.
  • Responsible for the management of the Project Managers and teams supporting the delivery.
  • Uses evidential data to make objective decisions taking into account stakeholders including the end customer.
Skills / Qualifications / Experience
  • A degree qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a similar relevant subject.
  • NEC3/4 project manager accreditation.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and programmes from initial concept through to successful delivery.
  • Experience working at a senior management level within a client, consultancy, or contractor organisation.
  • Proven experience of engineering delivery within the water industry or similar utilities sector, such as gas or energy.
  • Excellent organisational and resource allocation skills.
  • The ability to undertake recruitment responsibilities to ensure your teams are fully resourced with the necessary skills and knowledge for successful delivery.
  • Strong people management skills, a collaborative team approach, and the ability to work effectively with peers and influence individuals not within your direct line management.
  • Sound commercial and contract knowledge and acumen.
  • A proven track record of managing budgets, schedules, and risks effectively.
  • The ability to exercise sound engineering judgement and make well-informed decisions in complex situations.
  • Excellent technical report writing and editorial skills, alongside strong oral communication abilities.

Compensation package

Up to £97,000 p.a. dependent on experience, plus £7,513 p.a. car allowance
