Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to strengthen our Water Team, with hybrid working and opportunities across Birmingham, Chesterfield, Leeds and Manchester. You will lead the design and review of water and wastewater infrastructure, perform hydraulic assessments, prepare PFDs and P&IDs, and collaborate with other disciplines to deliver safe, compliant solutions for our clients.

This role involves mentoring junior engineers, supporting bids, and ensuring projects are delivered on time

Qualifications

• Proven experience in the design of water and wastewater engineering deliverables across multidisciplinary projects.
• BEng or MEng in a related engineering field.
• Chartered or near Chartered with a Professional Institution.
• Senior engineer level experience at a consultancy within the water sector.
• Experience managing projects, delegating tasks and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Design and review process elements for wastewater and water infrastructure projects.
• Site visits for surveys and client liaison.
• Develop hydraulic assessments, mass and energy balances and equipment design.
• Create PFDs and P&IDs, Hazardous Area Classification and LoPA.
• Support bid proposals and ensure delivery within budgets and timelines.
• Coordinate with discipline teams and mentor junior staff.
• Produce calculations, drawings and technical reports to standards.
