Job summary

Context Recruitment Limited is seeking a Senior VMWare Platform Engineer to join a growing Platform Engineering team. This remote-based role focuses on VMware Cloud Foundation, private cloud, Kubernetes and automation technologies.

You will design, build and enhance enterprise cloud platforms, drive automation, and provide technical leadership across infrastructure and managed service environments. Eligible to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Strong VMware infrastructure experience.
• Hands-on Kubernetes administration and platform engineering experience.
• Infrastructure as Code skills, ideally Terraform and Kubernetes manifests.
• Experience with automation, scripting and DevSecOps methodologies.
• Knowledge of GitHub, GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and support VMware-based cloud and managed service platforms.
• Deliver complex engineering projects across virtualisation, infrastructure and Kubernetes environments.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code, automation and CI/CD capabilities.
• Drive improvements in standardisation, operational efficiency and service reliability.
• Mentor engineers and act as a technical escalation point.
• Produce technical documentation, runbooks and operational standards.
• Work closely with Architecture, Operations and Delivery teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Remote based. Paying between 70,000-80,000, depending on experience.

We're recruiting for a Senior VMWare Platform Engineer to join a growing Platform Engineering team within a leading Managed Services Provider focused on VMware Cloud Foundation, private cloud, Kubernetes and automation technologies.

This is a hands‑on senior engineering role where you'll help design, build and enhance enterprise cloud platforms, improve automation capabilities and provide technical leadership across complex infrastructure and managed service environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and support VMware-based cloud and managed service platforms.
