Job summary

DXC Technology is seeking a Senior VMware Engineer (VCF) to shape secure cloud infrastructure in the UK. Hybrid working options are available from Erskine or Newcastle, with a focus on designing, building and optimising VMware environments and related platforms.

You will lead delivery on mission-critical environments, mentor teams, and contribute to large-scale transformations using VCF, ARIA, NSX and SRM in secure, complex settings.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in VMware engineering and enterprise virtualization.
• Hands-on expertise with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
• Experience with Aria Suite, SRM, NSX and AVI technologies.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Strong scripting and automation abilities (PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Designing, deploying and optimising VMware environments, including VCF 5.x and above.
• Implementing and managing VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and the VMware Aria Suite, including vRealize Operations, Automation, Log Insight and NSX.
• Delivering resilient, scalable and secure hybrid cloud solutions.
• Troubleshooting complex infrastructure challenges across compute, networking and storage.
• Driving automation and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives using Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform or similar technologies.
• Producing high-quality architecture and technical documentation (HLDs and LLDs).
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring to colleagues across infrastructure teams.
• Supporting platform resilience, modernisation and operational excellence in secure environments.

What We’re Looking For

We're keen to hear from professionals with:

• Significant experience in VMware engineering and enterprise virtualization environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
• Experience with VMware Aria Suite, SRM and ideally NSX and/or AVI technologies.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
• Understanding of networking, storage technologies and Active Directory.
• Experience with automation and scripting tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Python or Terraform.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment.
