Context Recruitment Limited is seeking a Senior VMware Technical Architect to lead design and governance of VMware Cloud Foundation based platforms in a private cloud setting. You will shape multi-tenant environments, drive automation, Kubernetes integration, and cloud-native services across enterprise-grade deployments.

You will collaborate with engineering, operations and product teams, producing architectural standards, roadmaps and governance.

Qualifications

Extensive experience with VMware Cloud Foundation and vSphere/vSAN/NSX.
Private cloud and multi-tenant platform design experience.
Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies experience.
Infrastructure as Code, automation and DevOps practices.
Security architecture, governance and technical assurance.
Producing architectural documentation, standards and roadmaps.
Experience in MSP, service provider or large enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

Define target architectures, technical standards and reference designs.
Design VMware Cloud Foundation environments with vSphere, vSAN and NSX.
Shape multi-tenant private cloud platforms and managed service architectures.
Provide technical governance, design authority and architectural assurance.
Support modern platform capabilities including Kubernetes and automation.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure delivery of architectural designs.
Contribute to technology roadmaps, service evolution and platform strategy.
Lead technical workshops, design reviews and stakeholder discussions.

Senior VMWare Technical Architect

Paying between £85,000-95,000, depending on experience

Remote based - UK

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced VMware Architect or Senior VMware Architect to play a key role in shaping the future of a large-scale private cloud and managed services environment.

This is a strategic architecture position focused on designing and governing VMware Cloud Foundation-based platforms, helping define the future direction of private cloud, automation, Kubernetes and cloud-native services. You'll work closely with engineering, operations and product teams to create secure, scalable and highly available solutions that support enterprise customers and managed service offerings.

This role would suit an experienced architect with strong VMware expertise who enjoys influencing technology strategy, defining architecture standards and guiding the implementation of complex cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities:

Defining target architectures, technical standards and reference designs.
Designing VMware Cloud Foundation environments incorporating vSphere, vSAN, NSX and associated technologies.
Shaping multi-tenant private cloud platforms and managed service architectures.
Providing technical governance, design authority and architectural assurance.
Supporting modern platform capabilities including Kubernetes, automation and self-service provisioning.
Working closely with engineering teams to ensure architectural designs are delivered successfully.
Contributing to technology roadmaps, service evolution and platform strategy.
Leading technical workshops, design reviews and stakeholder discussions.
