Derby | £500-£552.50/day | Inside IR35 | Long-term programme | Secure environment
We are building a pipeline of experienced Senior VMware Cloud Foundation Engineers with active SC clearance for an anticipated long-term infrastructure programme based across secure sites in Derby.
The programme is expected to run through to December 2027, with two engineers required on a staggered basis. The first is expected to join during the design phase from late October, with a second engineer following in late November.
This will suit experienced VMware specialists who are comfortable working in complex, highly secure infrastructure environments and who can contribute at both design and hands‑on delivery level.
You will work as part of a senior engineering team supporting the design, build and delivery of a large‑scale VMware Cloud Foundation environment.
Depending on your background, responsibilities are likely to include:
The primary requirement is strong, demonstrable experience with:
Strong experience across some of the following would also be highly desirable:
We are particularly interested in engineers who have worked on major VMware transformation, build or migration programmes rather than purely BAU support environments.
Active SC clearance is a key requirement for this programme and will be prioritised heavily in the selection process. Due to the nature of the environment and the need to mobilise engineers quickly, preference will be given to candidates who already hold current, active SC clearance and have used it recently within a secure customer environment.
Candidates without active SC may be considered only where the technical fit is exceptional and the project can accommodate the clearance process.
The work will be based across secure customer sites in Derby. Candidates should expect the role to be predominantly onsite, potentially up to five days per week depending on the project phase and environment being worked on. This is therefore best suited to people based within a realistic commuting distance of Derby or those comfortable travelling to site regularly.
