Job summary

Hawk Hiring is seeking a skilled automotive technician for a well-established multi-site business in South Leicestershire. You will perform major engine overhauls, diagnostics, routine servicing, and ensure MOT readiness across cars, vans, and fleet vehicles.

The role offers a competitive salary (£32,000–£45,000), standard hours 08:00–17:00, on-site gym access, paid leave, and funded MOT training pathways. Full UK driving licence preferred; training provided for MOT classes if needed.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or time-served experience.
• Proven experience with engine overhauls, timing chains, clutches, cambelts and fault isolation.
• MOT tester status is advantageous; full MOT training provided for right candidate.
• Full UK driving licence (Class C / C+E is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Perform major engine and mechanical overhauls, incl cambelts, timing chains, clutches and brakes.
• Use diagnostic tools for fault-finding and electrical diagnosis.
• Carry out routine servicing, safety inspections, and preventative maintenance on fleet and retail vehicles.
• Ensure MOT readiness and manufacturer compliance.
• Maintain electronic job logs and mentor apprentice mechanics.
