Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Stoke-on-Trent is recruiting a skilled Vehicle Technician for a premier independent garage known for solving complex electrical issues and multi-brand servicing.

You will carry out diagnostic fault-finding across mechanical, electrical, and software systems, perform major overhauls, complete servicing and health checks, and maintain clean, safe bays. Salary £35,000–£45,000 DOE plus a team bonus, 20 days’ leave, on-site parking, and supplied workwear.

Qualifications

• Time-served mechanic with confidence in heavy mechanical work and diagnostics.
• Level 3 NVQ / IMI in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Full UK Driving Licence and MOT status (helpful but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Carry out diagnostic fault-finding across mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
• Perform major mechanical overhauls: timing belts/chains, clutch, gearbox, suspension.
• Complete servicing, multi-point checks, and pre-MOT safety inspections.
• Record findings on digital job sheets and brief front-of-house staff.
• Keep bays clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
