Scotland

A leading property consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Associate Director or Director to join its established Hospitality Valuations team in Scotland.

This is a genuinely busy opportunity, with a strong pipeline of work already in place and plenty to get stuck into from day one. The role offers exposure to high-value hospitality assets and trading businesses, alongside excellent opportunities for career progression within a growing specialist team.

The Role

The successful candidate will work across Hotels, Pubs & Restaurants, undertaking valuations of trading businesses and going-concern properties across Scotland, with some coverage across Cumbria and Northumberland.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Undertaking and signing off valuation reports.
  • Carrying out inspections and valuations across hospitality properties and trading businesses.
  • Managing a high volume of valuation instructions, with approximately 120 inspections per year.
  • Working on substantial individual assets, typically in the £25m–£30m range, with regular exposure to assets valued at up to £100m.
  • Working closely with clients, lenders, investors, operators and professional advisers.
  • Understanding accounts, leases and applying appropriate valuation techniques.
  • Managing and developing key client relationships.
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Supporting the wider valuation team, including Healthcare & Medical where required.
  • Working towards individual income targets within a strong commission structure.
The Candidate

We are keen to speak with MRICS-qualified valuers currently operating at Associate Director or Director level.

Trading / hospitality valuation experience would be preferred, particularly experience across hotels, pubs, restaurants or other trading businesses.

However, strong general commercial valuation experience will also be considered, including candidates from:

  • Offices
  • Warehousing
  • Commercial property
  • Secured lending

The successful candidate will need to be comfortable managing a very busy workload, handling multiple instructions and working to tight deadlines, while maintaining a high standard of reporting and client service.

For a Director-level appointment, the role will also involve driving profitability, developing new business and helping to grow the team and wider operation.

Why This Opportunity?
  • Very busy hospitality valuation team with a strong pipeline of work
  • High volume of interesting and varied instructions
  • Exposure to significant hospitality assets and trading businesses
  • Regular involvement with high-value assets
  • Strong support structure
  • Excellent career progression
  • Opportunity to develop both technical and business development experience
  • Long-term opportunity within an established and growing specialist team

This is a great opportunity for an experienced MRICS valuer looking for a busy role with strong hospitality exposure, high-value work and genuine scope to progress.
