Job description

Summary

Freedom Professional Services is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Utility Surveyor. The successful candidate should have extensive experience conducting surveys across various industries and locations. Knowledge of PAS 128 is essential, along with proficiency in utility detection instruments, location tools, and data post-processing for detailed utility surveys.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, including home, site, and office work.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Producing detailed PAS 128 compliant surveys for analysis by planners, builders, and cartographers.
  2. Utilizing equipment such as electromagnetic locators, GPRs, GPS, TS, and conventional methods to conduct surveys.
  3. Resolving practical planning and development issues on-site.
  4. Verifying and validating information rigorously before handover.
  5. Interpreting data using drawings, maps, charts, and plans.
  6. Using CAD and other IT software for data interpretation and presentation.
  7. Keeping up-to-date with new and emerging technologies.
  8. Verifying plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy.
  9. Monitoring and interpreting contract design documents.
  10. Producing timely and accurate reports as per project requirements.
  11. Addressing technical difficulties and other problems promptly.

Additional responsibilities:

  1. Collaborating effectively with project personnel to meet project standards.
  2. Supporting the business and team members in achieving objectives.
  3. Performing tasks assigned by the Survey Manager.

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience with electromagnetic locators and ground penetrating radar.
  • Experience with GPS and Total Stations.
  • Experience with utility and CCTV surveys.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience supervising small teams and resolving issues with staff and management.
  • Knowledge of survey software such as n4ce, IQMaps, GRED HD, or Wincan (desirable).
