Senior Surveyor in House Type Approvals

Salary: £44,000 – £47,000 + 10% bonus per annum + regional allowance.

Working Location: Homebased

Employment Type: full time, Permanent

Job summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Surveyor to specialise in House Type Approvals and develop their expertise to become a recognised authority in this dynamic and rapidly evolving field. In this role, the Senior Surveyor will play a key part in shaping the future of housing, setting industry standards, and ensuring that every project meets the highest levels of safety and compliance.

What you’ll be doing

This is a key opportunity for a Senior Surveyor to specialise in House Type Approvals and become a go-to expert in this dynamic field. You'll help shape the future of housing, drive industry standards, and ensure projects meet the highest levels of safety and compliance. Working with a skilled team, you’ll develop specialist knowledge in this niche area of building control—managing risk and ensuring that warranty products and applications meet all statutory and customer requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with NHBC and HSE requirements for personal safety and that of others.
  • Deliver technical presentations to both internal and external customers where required.
  • Assist with training, coaching and mentoring of others as required.
  • Manage own workload and allocated tasks by Inspection Manager and Peer Group 1-3 builders to ensure relevant SLA’s are achieved.
  • Take responsibility for the assessment of building regulation and warranty applications for residential developments and associated non-residential uses typically over 11 metres high.
  • Assist in implementing business efficiencies and opportunities for growth of the business.

What we’re looking for

  • Senior level experience in the building / construction industry.
  • Experience of plan appraisal of residential developments and associated non-residential uses.
  • Experience in training and mentoring.
  • IT literate with the ability to use a range of software programs.
  • Wider knowledge of Technical Operation SOPs, company Systems & processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of NHBC SOPS and systems relevant to the Specialism.
  • Chartered membership of an appropriate professional institution.
  • Relevant accredited HND/HNC qualification or substantial industry experience.
