Job summary

Last Mile is a leading UK last-mile multi-utility business delivering essential infrastructure across electricity, gas, heat, water and fibre. We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager (Utilities) to lead strategic growth in Southeast England, manage a team of Multi-Utility Business Development Managers, and secure major contracts.

You will build strong client relationships, navigate a regulated environment, and shape propositions with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in business development or commercial leadership within the utilities sector.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure delivery models, regulatory frameworks, and sustainability drivers across Multi-utilities (gas, electricity, heat, fibre, clean water, and/or wastewater).
• Demonstrated success in securing and delivering complex contracts or partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Growth & Market Development – Develop and execute a sector-focused growth strategy across utilities.
• Client & Stakeholder Engagement – Build strong relationships with clients, regulators, and industry partners.
• Commercial Leadership – Lead pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and ensure commercially sound deal structures.
