Job summary

Aureos is seeking a Waste Strategy Lead to drive waste management across operations in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on regulatory compliance, practical waste handling, and continuous improvement of recycling and sustainability performance.

You will oversee contractors, manage budgets, report KPIs, and train staff on safe disposal practices, with strong emphasis on health, safety and environmental responsibility.

Qualifications

• Experience in waste management or industrial operations.
• Strong knowledge of UK waste legislation incl. Duty of Care.
• Experience managing waste contractors and service providers.
• ISO 14001 experience desirable.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with waste-tracking systems and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement waste strategies aligned with goals.
• Ensure compliance with UK waste regulations and permits.
• Oversee daily waste operations including segregation and disposal.
• Manage relationships with waste carriers and partners.
• Maintain waste records and produce KPI reports.
• Identify opportunities to improve recycling and sustainability.
• Lead safety audits and ensure safe handling of waste.
• Manage waste budgets and identify cost savings.
• Deliver staff training on waste practices.
• Collaborate with operations, facilities and engineering teams.
