Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Import and Customs Compliance Manager to lead Perkins Engines Peterborough and Birchwood imports and customs compliance. You will drive IP, CW, and SCDP authorisations and oversee all UK import operations to ensure timely, compliant delivery.

The role requires governance, policy development, and cross-functional collaboration across Supply Chain, Finance, and Engineering. Limited domestic travel (about 10%) and onsite, five-day-per-week work are expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in customs compliance, import operations and regimes such as IP and CW.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management to influence decisions.
• Experience with ERP and customs systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead IP, CW and SCDP authorisations ensuring full compliance with UK customs legislation.
• Oversee import customs operations including declarations and broker governance.
• Develop and enhance customs policies, controls and audit programmes.
• Manage customs deferment account and financial reporting related to customs.
• Provide guidance on import regulations, tariff classification, origin and duty relief regimes.
• Build relationships with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchasing, Engineering and Finance.
• Drive continuous improvement and compliance awareness across the team.
