Job Title: UK Compliance Senior Analyst
Location: London (Hybrid Working, 3 days in office)
Role Objective:
To support the UK regulated entities (including branches) in actively and effectively managing its regulatory engagements and risks.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning:
- Contribute to the annual Aspen Compliance Monitoring Plan to ensure that there is appropriate coverage for the UK and broader group key regulatory risks
- Review regulatory horizon scanning consultations, statements and white papers, liaising with the business to put together a plan to address the actions required
- Contribute to monthly MI for the use in regular reporting to Aspen Boards, Committees and Steering Groups
- Actively contribute to the Group Compliance Team meetings to promote effective compliance management within Aspen
Policy, Process and Procedures:
- Develop and maintain UK rule mapping for key regulatory risks within Aspen
- Work with the Compliance Analyst to help develop and maintain Compliance related policies and procedures for the UK regulated entities
- Provide technical support to Group functions in the development of their policies and procedures
- Identify if the UK regulated entities do not have sufficient coverage or controls in their policies and procedures and to make recommendations of how to strengthen them
- Promote and provide training on the Compliance related policies and procedures to the key stakeholders in Aspen
- To follow all Compliance policies and procedures
Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus:
Support in the management of the relationships of Aspen’s regulators
- Develop strong relationships with Aspen stakeholders – in particular Underwriting, Claims, Operations, Finance, Risk, HR and Internal Audit
- Attend the UK branch steering group meetings, representing the Head of UK Compliance, preparing and presenting functional papers for the steering group
- Attend market forums, groups and committees to further strengthen the Aspen relationship with external trade associations
Technical Performance:
- Provide detailed and accurate policy advice on regulatory matters for the UK regulated entities
- Attend internal and external meetings to provide oversight, support, and advice on regulatory matters
- Support in the responses to regulator requests and enquiries
People Management:
- Whilst there is no direct people management, the role-holder will be expected to influence and manage Aspen stakeholders to deliver in their role
- Where possible, to offer support and development for others in the Compliance department
Requirements & Skills:
- A strong and recent compliance background with the London and Lloyd’s Market from either an insurer or broker
- Experience in actively managing regulatory relationships
- Experience of managing regulatory projects from ‘regulatory watch’ through to project implementation within the business
- Excellent knowledge of the FCA / PRA rulebooks and Lloyd’s requirements that are relevant to insurers and intermediaries
- Sound understanding of the Compliance fundamentals, such as Financial Crime, Conflicts of Interest, Whistleblowing and Compliance monitoring
- Good awareness of regulations for jurisdictions where Aspen operates
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and ability to effectively interact/influence with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on collaboration
- Ability to interpret regulation and provide commercially focused advice to the key stakeholders within the business
- Ability to undertake effective regulatory watch across multiple jurisdictions
