Gallagher Bassett is seeking an experienced Senior Travel Claims Handler to manage a varied caseload of travel insurance claims remotely in the UK, ensuring investigations, assessments, and settlements align with policy terms and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous travel insurance claims experience is essential.
• Experience handling claims from notification through to settlement.
• Strong understanding of travel insurance policies, investigations and coverage assessments.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Strong decision making, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks and meet service standards.
• Empathy and professionalism in sensitive customer conversations.
• Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of travel insurance claims from notification through to settlement.
• Review claim documentation, policy coverage and evidence to determine outcomes.
• Investigate complex claims, gather information and make liability/indemnity decisions.
• Communicate with customers, medical providers, insurers and third parties throughout the process.
• Provide clear guidance to customers, explaining decisions and managing expectations.
• Ensure claims comply with policy wording, regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date claim records and documentation.
• Mentor less experienced team members and share knowledge.
