Job summary

Lucy Electric is seeking an experienced Lead of the Transactional Team to oversee the transactional finance function, including Accounts Payable, Credit Control, and General Ledger operations. You will provide leadership, ensure accurate processing, and support month-end reporting and compliance.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA with 3+ years of experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to lead a small team.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with 3+ years experience
• Professional membership with a recognised accountancy body
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
• Ability to influence and direct people
• Must be able to work independently for significant periods of time
• Ability to demonstrate effective team working across all disciplines within the company
• Able to prioritise workload effectively
• Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality and attention to detail
• Excellent Excel modelling skills
• Ability to write financial policy and procedure documents

Responsibilities

• Lead the transactional finance team across Accounts Payable, Credit Control, and General Ledger functions.
• Provide coaching, development, and performance management to support team capability and effectiveness.
• Oversee the General Ledger, including review and authorisation of journal postings.
• Manage VAT, PAYE, and HMRC reporting processes; support payroll checks.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including credit control.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and financial controls.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes and statutory accounts.
• Liaise with external auditors and stakeholders; provide escalation point for finance queries.
