Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Bristol is seeking a Senior/Principal Town Planner to lead planning applications from instruction to determination. You will advise clients on policy, develop strategy, and engage with local planning authorities and stakeholders.

The role offers ownership of projects, mentoring for junior staff, and a path to Chartership for MRTPI, with a broad mix of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline.
• MRTPI status or working towards chartership.
• Experience in planning consultancy or local authority.
• Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and policy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Managing and delivering planning applications from instruction to determination.
• Preparing planning statements, reports and supporting documentation.
• Advising clients on planning policy, development potential and strategy.
• Liaising with local planning authorities, consultants and stakeholders.
• Managing client relationships and supporting business development.
• Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams for successful delivery.
• Providing planning advice across a range of projects.
• For Principal-level: lead project delivery, mentor colleagues, grow the team.
