Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 7 Therapy Practice Placement Manager to lead placement experiences for therapy students. You will work with a fellow manager to provide leadership, supervision and support to educators and learners across therapy professions, with experience in supporting physiotherapy placements being an advantage.

The role requires HCPC registration and a relevant degree (BSc or preregistration MSc), plus a PGCert in Clinical Education

Qualifications

• BSc or preregistration MSc in a relevant therapy field or equivalent.
• Current HCPC registration.
• PGCert in Clinical Education or willingness to pursue it.
• Experience as a registered practitioner at a senior level.
• Knowledge of HCPC standards and mentoring students.
• Commitment to CPD and understanding of healthcare education delivery.
• Effective communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing compassionate and inclusive leadership to enhance practice-based learning experiences for therapy students.
• Fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and well-being for educators and learners.
• Monitoring and auditing placement quality to ensure compliance with professional standards.
• Supporting and advising practice educators while addressing any concerns related to placements.
• Contributing to placement capacity through service improvements and innovative placement models.
• Delivering teaching and training programs and supporting student assessment processes.
• Representing the Trust at various forums and contributing to curriculum development.
• Participating in line management, service development, research, and quality improvement projects.
