Job summary

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust at Westmoreland Street invites applications for a Senior Theatre Practitioner (Scrub) with at least 4 years’ experience at Band 5. Research Centre with state of the art facilities. WeCurrently have a vacancy within the Surgical Specialties Division.

We require a dynamic and motivated Scrub Practitioner with at least 4 years' experience at Band 5.

Working as a Scrub Nurse or Scrub Operating Department Practitioner you will be required to function effectively as a member of the perioperative team to ensure the provision and development of an efficient and high quality surgical service. You will need to deliver a holistic care package which is current, evidence based and effective. You will also have a broad knowledge and skill base including communication and team working skills, and be able to contribute to the smooth running of the theatre department.

Main duties of the job

We are committed to ongoing professional development and opportunities exist to undertake a wide range of in-house and university based training programmes.

The successful candidate will hold the appropriate qualifications to be currently registered as a practitioner (RGN or ODP) and demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development. They will also be able to demonstrate experience as a scrub practitioner in Urology.

  • Registered Nurse Part 1, 2 or relevant section of the register
  • Registered ODP with Dip HE, NVQ 3, or City & Guilds 752
  • Teaching course

  • Previous experience at Band 5
