Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead testing across the ESN project, including system, integration, and non-functional testing in an agile environment. The role involves coordinating with Home Office, customers, and partners, and representing the test function in customer engagements and formal tests.

The successful candidate will mentor junior testers, drive test automation approaches, and work in a hybrid model with some on-site collaboration at Southampton offices.

Qualifications

• Experience leading test planning and execution across multiple workstreams.
• Experience with multi-supplier environments and customer engagements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to balance hands-on testing with leadership duties.
• Experience with non-functional testing: security, performance, reliability, usability.
• ISTQB Advanced Level certification or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of test work packages, including scope, effort estimates, and schedules.
• Represent the test function within a complex multi-supplier delivery environment, building relationships with customers and engineering teams.
• Plan and coordinate multi-party test activities involving government bodies and third-party suppliers.
• Support interoperability and interface testing across distributed systems.
• Contribute to non-functional testing such as security and performance testing.
