Job summary

Kier Group plc in the UK is seeking a Senior Temporary Works Engineer to join the Kier Design team. You will lead the delivery of temporary works design and integrate it with permanent works, advising on safe and buildable solutions across a range of projects.

You will mentor staff, develop technical standards, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support clients and enhance Kier’s reputation for innovative engineering outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in temporary works design and checking across all materials
• Ability to lead design solutions and provide technical assessment of third party designs
• Capacity to manage workloads and ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies
• Committed to CPD and maintaining membership of a professional body

Responsibilities

• Lead temporary works design and checking, integrated with permanent works as applicable
• Provide tender and bid support including outline design schemes, feasibility studies and value engineering
• Manage technical aspects of projects, ensuring CDM compliance and Kier’s QMS
• Develop relationships with clients and design teams, representing Kier at project meetings
• Mentor and develop staff within Kier Design, promoting engineering professionalism and knowledge transfer
