Job summary

Sizewell C Company seeks a Temporary Works Manager to lead the temporary works design team within the Civil Works Alliance. You will oversee design, calculations, drawings, models and risk assessments to ensure safety, buildability and value across the delivery scope.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status preferably through ICE or IStructE.
• Minimum 12 years' relevant experience, incl. 5+ years in temporary works design management or leadership.
• Extensive temporary works design, checking and technical assurance experience across steel, concrete, timber and geotechnical elements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the temporary works design team with technical direction and resource management.
• Oversee calculations, drawings, models, reports and design risk assessments with high quality assurance.
• Manage design and checking of temporary works solutions per BS 5975, Eurocodes, CIRIA, CDM Regulations.
• Direct development of safe, buildable, cost-effective temporary works for haul roads, platforms, shoring, foundations, formwork, propping and more.
• Coordinate temporary works interfaces with permanent works, construction teams, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ensure design packages meet programme, budget and brief requirements; provide buildability and sequencing guidance.
• Oversee approvals submissions (including AI) for client and external stakeholders; report progress and forecast resources/cost.
• Drive digital design processes and continuous improvement throughout design, construction and handover.
