Job summary

ICDS in Suffolk seeks an experienced Temporary Works Design Manager to lead the coordination and management of temporary works. You will ensure temporary works are safely planned, designed, checked, approved, constructed and controlled throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in civil or structural engineering.
• Significant experience coordinating temporary works on major projects.
• Knowledge of temporary works design and approval processes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Understanding of construction methods, sequencing and risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead temporary works management.
• Develop, implement and maintain temporary works procedures.
• Coordinate temporary works activities throughout the construction programme.
• Establish and maintain the Temporary Works Register as a live project control document.
• Monitor design, checking and approval status and prioritize designs against programme.
• Provide technical advice and support to engineering and site teams.
• Coordinate design and technical delivery.
• Ensure design briefs are prepared and reviewed.
• Coordinate temporary and permanent works designs.
• Ensure designs reflect construction methods and site constraints.
• Control design changes and ensure revised information is communicated.
