Job summary

Civil Works Alliance is seeking a Temporary Works Designer to support Sizewell C on-site across Civil Works scopes. You will design, check and assure temporary works solutions, lead design deliverables and mentor junior engineers, ensuring compliance with BS 5975, Eurocodes and CDM regs.

Working with a team of engineers and subcontractors, you’ll apply knowledge of formwork, scaffolding, and proprietary systems, and contribute to safe, cost-effective construction methods.

Qualifications

• Designs temporary works in construction.
• Experience with BS5975:2019 and BS 8007 guidance.
• Able to design using British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Maintain quality documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Experience working with contractors and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Design, check and technically assure temporary works solutions on site.
• Deliver in-house designs across CWA-wide scopes and associated systems.
• Develop, implement and manage standard design processes.
• Review calculations, drawings and technical deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and support design process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with CDM, HSWA, LOLER and PUWER requirements.
• Support development of digital processes and BIM execution plans.
