Job summary

City St George’s, University of London is seeking a Senior Technician to support Nursing and Midwifery teaching across clinical skills labs and simulation suites. You will ensure equipment is safe, well-prepared and fully functional while working with academic staff and students.

The role involves leading the day-to-day operation of facilities, providing technical guidance, supervising technicians, managing stock and contributing to service improvements within a compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting simulation, high-fidelity simulation or specialist equipment in a practical learning environment.
• Strong technical and organisational skills with ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Ability to lead a small team and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of clinical skills, simulation and high-fidelity facilities, ensuring equipment, teaching spaces and resources are prepared, maintained and operated safely.
• Provide technical support and guidance to students and academic staff, configure and support high-fidelity simulation scenarios, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Supervise and support technicians, manage stock and maintenance records, and contribute to service improvements.
• Work collaboratively across teams to deliver high-quality practical and simulation-based learning experiences while ensuring compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements.
