Job summary

PX Group is seeking a Senior Technical Safety Engineer for a 6 month contract based in Stockton on Tees. You will perform safety engineering across a range of projects, ensuring compliance with legislation and industry best practice.

You will lead hazard identification and risk assessments (HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA/SIL), carry out fire and explosion analysis using PHAST, and prepare safety deliverables and technical documentation for clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in safety engineering across multiple projects
• Familiar with hazard identification techniques (HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA) and SIL assessments
• Ability to prepare safety deliverables and technical documentation

Responsibilities

• Undertake safety engineering activities across projects ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards and industry best practice.
• Participate in hazard identification and risk assessment studies, including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and SIL assessments.
• Undertake fire and explosion analysis within DNV PHAST software.
• Prepare and review safety engineering deliverables, including philosophies, calculations, risk assessments, hazard registers, safety reports and technical documentation.
• Support the identification and assessment of hazards, recommending appropriate risk reduction measures in accordance with ALARP principles.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure safety requirements are incorporated into project designs.
• Provide technical input to clients and project stakeholders on safety engineering matters.
