Job summary

Land and Sea Resources Limited seeks a Technical Safety Lead for Barrow-in-Furness Gas Terminal. The role focuses on technical safety, process safety and asset integrity, providing expert guidance across operations.

The candidate will lead HAZOP/HAZID/ENVID workshops, support Safety Case and COMAH, and oversee contractor management with a Chartered Engineer credential preferred.

Technical Safety Lead

Location: Barrow-in-Furness Gas Terminal

Job Type: 4 Days Onsite, 1 Day from home (Monday or Friday)

Salary: £300 per day

Are you an experienced Technical Safety Lead looking for your next opportunity within the energy or oil & gas sector?

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Safety Lead to join a team based at Barrow-in-Furness Gas Terminal.

This is a key role focused on technical safety, process safety and asset integrity, providing expert guidance and assurance across operations.

The Role

As Technical Safety Lead, you will:

• Provide expert technical safety, process safety and asset integrity guidance
• Support Safety Case and COMAH requirements
• Lead and coordinate HAZOP, HAZID, HIRA and ENVID workshops
• Oversee technical safety activities across operations
• Provide assurance around engineering standards, legislation and regulatory compliance
• Support contractor management and technical reviews
• Assist with competence assurance activities
• Lead investigations using Kelvin TopSet techniques
• Support major accident hazard management activities
• Provide technical input and assurance across relevant safety processes

About You

We're looking for someone who is experienced, proactive and confident providing technical safety guidance within a major hazard environment.

The successful Technical Safety Lead will ideally have extensive experience working within an operator or client environment, with strong knowledge of technical and process safety.

You'll also have:

• Extensive Technical Safety Lead experience
• Strong knowledge of major accident hazard management
• Experience with Safety Cases and COMAH
• Experience leading HAZOP, HAZID, HIRA and ENVID workshops
• Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards and legislation
• Experience with contractor management and technical assurance
• Experience using Kelvin TopSet investigation techniques
• Degree qualification in an engineering or technology discipline
• Chartered Engineer status
