Job summary

Acorn Group seeks an experienced Technical Claims Handler to proactively manage a technical PI caseload, including high-value and litigated files. You’ll provide guidance to less experienced handlers and contribute to technical strategies across the claims function.

The role is based in Liverpool with hybrid working across two sites; 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You’ll need strong diary management, case law knowledge, and the ability to drive settlements efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience handling Personal Injury claims, including multi-track files.
• Ability to use own initiative to explore options and own outcomes.
• Self-motivated and able to prioritise and work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent team player with collaborative approach.
• Understanding of case law, statutes and Pre-Action Protocols.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage a portfolio with strong diary management while hitting KPIs/SLAs.
• Handle claims within defined authority and refer when exceeding limits.
• Review reserves to best practice and escalate when needed.
• Mitigate leakage and spend through proactive claims handling.
• Drive settlement decisions at earliest opportunity.
• Support training of junior handlers and contribute to audits.
• Collaborate on technical strategies to improve business results.
• Engage external providers as necessary to support claims.
