Job summary

1st Central in Salford Quays, Manchester is seeking a PI Technical Claims Team Leader to supervise a team of PI Technical Claims Negotiators, driving performance, compliance and continuous improvement in motor personal injury claims.

The role involves an initial three months in-office training, then a hybrid pattern with four days at home and one day in the office. You will report on KPIs, manage audits and staff development while upholding Consumer Duty and reserving standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive motor personal injury claims experience.
• Experience managing a team.
• Experience in claims reporting management of ACPC.
• Solid understanding of MOJ Portal and OIC reforms.
• Excellent knowledge of FCA requirements (including Consumer Duty).
• Ability to drive performance and compliant processes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Third Party business plan and PI targets.
• Provide regular KPI and SLA reports to the Head of Personal Injury Claims.
• Assist the Claims department with queries and complex claims where appropriate.
• Identify and refer potential fraudulent claims as per procedures.
• Lead, motivate and manage a group of handlers.
• Conduct regular audit reviews for accuracy and quality of work.
• Deliver coaching and feedback to achieve KPIs and conduct performance reviews.
• Deal with employee issues including absence, disciplinaries and recruitment.
• Assist with training of new recruits or retraining of current staff.
• Develop and manage PI procedures; drive process improvements.
• Ensure all Technical Claims Negotiators are Consumer Duty compliant.
