Amiqus - Games Recruitment Specialists is partnering with a UK-based Console Studio to recruit a Senior Technical Artist. The role focuses on bridging artists and engineers, building pipelines, shaders, tools, and optimizing rendering for a high-end AAA title.

You will collaborate with the Head of Art, with opportunities to specialise in tools, pipeline, hardware or graphics. Hybrid or remote work is available for candidates based in the UK.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ experience in the games industry.
• Past Console or PC game development experience, in a Character focused role.
• Experience with at least one of Python, MEL, C#, C++ (or similar).
• Experience with 3DS Max or Maya (or similar package).
• An awareness of performance for a high-end AAA title.
• Experience with Unreal Engine.
• Experience with Houdini would be a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Bridge the gap between artists and engineers to ensure an efficient art pipeline.
• Build art pipelines, shaders, tools, optimization, rendering, lighting, materials and scene setup.
• Collaborate with Head of Art and wear multiple hats across tools/pipeline/graphics disciplines.

Senior Technical Artist - Console/PC Studio – Hybrid or Remote

We have partnered with a Console Studio based in Sheffield, who are currently looking for a Senior Technical Artist to join their growing team to help work on their next project. The team are made up of award-winning developers who have come from AAA backgrounds and have a history of releasing a range of high-quality games, some of which have been adored in the games industry over the years.

As the Senior Technical Artist, you will collaborate heavily with the Head of Art, to help with bridging the gap between artists and engineers, ensuring an efficient art pipeline and optimised game. You’ll also help with building art pipelines, shaders, tools, optimization, rendering, lighting, materials, animations and scene setup to name a few! The most important thing, is someone who has worked closely with Characters, helping achieve human realism when it comes to human movement and combat.

As the Senior in this team, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills and wear multiple hats, if you are a tools/pipeline/hardware/graphics specialist or a generalist, there will be an opportunity to develop your disciplines and skills.

This is a 3-month FTC with the possibility of being extended or being made permanent. We can consider fully remote candidates (currently based in the UK), however the preference is hybrid working.
