Job summary

Arm Limited in Cambridge is seeking an experienced software engineer and technical leader to own the implementation and delivery of an embedded Linux distribution for AI‑focused hardware devices. You will lead a small team, plan and deliver system software, and work with architects, PMs and engineers to ensure timely delivery.

You will drive kernel, drivers and userspace integration, mentor engineers, and contribute to performance improvements while collaborating across teams in Arm’s UK office.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and delivering work for a small engineering team
• Expertise integrating, configuring, building and testing Linux-based systems using Yocto, Buildroot, Bazel or Blaze
• Good understanding of upstream contribution processes for open-source projects
• Experience leading and developing other engineers
• Effective communicator and ability to collaborate well within and across teams

Responsibilities

• Leading a high-performing team of five engineers
• Integrating, configuring, building and testing system software into a complete Linux distribution, including the kernel, drivers and userspace components
• Analysing and improving performance of system software
• Bring up of software on virtual platforms, FPGA and hardware environments
