Job summary

Piper Hill High School invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Level 4. The role is 35 hours per week, term-time only plus 1 week, with a starting salary of £29,448 and full-time equivalent of £34,237. Interviews will take place the week commencing 12 October 2026.

We seek a highly qualified TA with experience supporting children and young people with SEMH and complex learning needs, ability to plan and lead learning activities, and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children and young people with SEMH and complex learning needs.
• Ability to plan and lead learning activities under teacher guidance.
• Numeracy and literacy skills to level 2 (GCSEs 9–4 / A*-C) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Complement teachers by delivering learning programmes and supporting individuals or small groups.
• Cover whole classes during teacher short-term absence as required.
• Record progress and provide feedback to teachers on attainment and behaviour.
