Job summary

Piper Hill High School is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 4 to join our team. This Grade 6 post works 35 hours per week term time plus 1 week, fixed until 31/08/2027. The starting salary is £29,448 with a full-time equivalent of £34,237.

Role requires experience supporting children with social, emotional and behavioural needs, and delivering learning activities under supervision, with GCSEs/NVQ3 qualifications as specified.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties
• Experience planning, preparing and delivering learning activities
• GCSEs (9–4/A-C) or equivalent in Numeracy and Literacy; NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Provide cover for whole classes during teacher absence and undertake planning, preparation, assessment and reporting during those periods
• Assess student needs and use specialist skills to support learning
• Build productive relationships with students and model positive behaviour
• Encourage collaboration and active participation in class activities
• Assist in developing and implementing individual Education/Behaviour/Mentoring plans
• Contribute to assessment of student progress and provide feedback with evidence
• Record progress, behaviour and attendance and provide evidence of attainment
• Deliver learning activities and adapt plans to meet diverse pupil needs in an inclusive setting
