Job summary

Academics is seeking a Senior Teaching Assistant for a full-time, temp-to-perm role in a secondary school located in the Lymington/New Forest area. You will work in an Alternative Provision setting supporting pupils at risk of exclusion and those going through the EHCP process.

The role involves assisting with core subjects, documenting EHCPs, and helping pupils transition back to the main classroom. A calm, empathetic approach and strong relationship-building skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting secondary pupils in Alternative Provision.
• Able to document EHCP processes and educational plans.
• Achieved C/4 or above in Maths and English.
• Calm, nurturing and good at building relationships with pupils, including those with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Support lessons in core subjects for secondary pupils.
• Assist with EHCP documentation and education plans.
• Help transition pupils back into main classroom full-time.
