Job summary

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a Senior Teaching Assistant role at one of Leicestershire's leading all-age special schools. Based at Wigston or Countesthorpe, you will join an enthusiastic team supporting children with diverse learning needs.

You’ll work with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning, lead a team of assistants and help pupils reach their potential in a nurturing, inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning or equivalent.
• GCSE Maths and English at Level 2 or equivalent.
• Significant experience supporting children with SEND and learning difficulties.
• Ability to lead and mentor other Teaching Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, delivery and assessment of personalised learning programmes.
• Lead and support Teaching Assistants within the classroom.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to reviews and targets.
• Deliver small group and individual interventions.
• Adapt resources to meet individual learning needs.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and professionals.
• Support pupils during community visits and therapeutic activities.
• Prepare classrooms and learning environments.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school.
