Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support primary students in Leicester. You will work with teachers to tailor interventions and support 1:1 and small groups, ensuring access to the curriculum. The role focuses on inclusive practice, tracking progress, and promoting positive behaviour.

Previous experience in education is preferred but not essential. A caring, patient approach and strong communication with staff and students are essential;

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
• Experience in an educational setting preferred but not essential.
• Caring, patient and empathetic approach to working with students.
• Strong communication with students and staff.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEN across ASD, learning disabilities and emotional/behavioural needs.
• Collaborate with teachers to deliver tailored lessons and interventions.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to ensure curriculum access.
• Foster a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Develop and track individualised plans and provide progress feedback.
• Advocate for inclusion and promote positive behaviour and communication.
