Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a high-intensity Counsellor for the NHS Talking Therapies service in the Blackpool area. The role requires a Diploma/Master’s level qualification, BACP/UKCP/ACC/NCS accreditation, and extensive experience delivering counselling face to face, online or by telephone.

You will assess clients, perform risk assessments, maintain records and work flexible hours including early starts or after-hours to improve access.

Qualifications

• Master’s level qualification in Psychotherapeutic Counselling with 450+ hours and 450+ hours supervised practice.
• NHS Talking Therapies accreditation (BACP/UKCP/ACC/NCS).
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
• Training in delivering counselling face to face, online or via telephone.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients for suitability for NHS Talking Therapies and provide evidence-based counselling.
• Undertake risk assessments in line with service policies and procedures.
• Adhere to activity contracts and manage weekly clinical sessions to minimise waiting times.
• Engage in regular case management and clinical supervision.
• Maintain data collection and keep detailed records per service protocols.
• Assess and integrate work and employment issues into the therapy process.
