Job summary

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a part-time, 6-month fixed-term Counsellor position in the North Dorset Counselling team. Bands B5–B7, with duties including NHS Talking Therapy, home visits, and possible late shifts.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in psychotherapeutic counselling required.
• Registration or accreditation with BACP, BPC, UKCP, NCPS or ACC.
• Currently practicing as a counsellor.
• Competent with data input and IT systems.
• Experience assessing and evaluating risk in mental health.

Responsibilities

• Provide a systematic counselling service within NHS Talking Therapy.
• Offer guidance and psychological therapy to referred patients.
• Work with interpreters and provide home visits, online or telephone treatment.
• May work one late shift (12:00–20:00).
