Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to define and deliver NIGHTSHADE system capability. You will drive architecture, requirements and traceability across mechanical, electrical and software domains, ensuring compliant, verifiable solutions for secure infrastructure used by defence and national security customers.

You will lead design reviews, manage risks, and collaborate with manufacturing, service and support teams.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Systems/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience applying systems engineering across lifecycle.
• Experience defining system architectures and interfaces.
• Strong requirements management and validation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead system architecture, requirements and design for NIGHTSHADE.
• Capture and manage customer, operational, and technical requirements.
• Define verification, validation and acceptance strategies.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary activities across mechanical, electrical, software and infrastructure.
• Produce high-quality engineering documentation and reviews.
• Support product roadmaps and emerging technologies.
