Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd in Yeovil is seeking an Electronic Engineer to join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division, focusing on NIGHTSHADE development. You will contribute to design, development, integration and qualification of secure modular infrastructure alongside manufacturing and support teams, with hybrid working options where feasible.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in electronic, electrical, systems engineering.
• Foundations in electrical engineering, power distribution and safety.
• Ability to produce or interpret electrical designs and specs.
• Understanding of systems engineering: requirements, traceability, verification.
• Experience or background in modelling/simulation of electrical, thermal or transient behaviours.
• Knowledge of data-networking and ICT integration in engineered systems.
• Analytical mindset to identify issues and support evidence-based design.
• Experience working across engineering disciplines

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design of small-power electrical systems incl. generators and battery management.
• Support design of local area data networks and ICT integration.
• Develop models and simulations for electrical, thermal and transient behaviours.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, manufacturing teams to integrate components.
• Develop and maintain system and component requirements with traceability.
• Specify and support verification, validation activities with evidence.
• Contribute to equipment and system qualification and certification.
• Produce documentation: specifications, calculations, models, evidence.
• Identify technical issues and escalate with evidence and recommendations.
• Participate in design reviews and knowledge sharing across NIGHTSHADE team.
