Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking an Electronic Engineer to join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division, based at Yeovil. You will contribute to the design and development of NIGHTSHADE, a modular secure infrastructure, working with manufacturing and support teams to deliver secure, resilient solutions.

You will apply your expertise across electrical power, data networks and systems engineering, collaborating with multidisciplinary colleagues to meet stringent defence requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree or apprenticeship in electronic, electrical or systems engineering.
• Fundamentals of power distribution, protection and electrical safety.
• Ability to interpret electrical designs, schematics and models.
• Knowledge of systems engineering: requirements, traceability, verification and validation.
• Experience in modelling electrical, thermal or transient behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design of small-power electrical systems including generators and battery-management systems.
• Support design of local area data networks and ICT integration.
• Develop models and simulations of electrical, thermal and transient behaviours.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems and manufacturing teams to integrate components.
• Maintain system and component requirements with clear traceability.
• Support verification, validation, and certification activities.
